Colorado man arrested following reports of pointing gun at motorists

SCOTTSBLUFF (March 7, 2023) -- A Colorado man was arrested Tuesday after police responded to reports of a man pointing a handgun at motorists.

Scottsbluff Police Officers responded to several reports of a male pointing a handgun at motorists.

A description of the man as well as a vehicle description were given. Officers located the suspect and the described vehicle in the Walmart parking lot. The man ran from officers but was apprehended and taken into custody.

He was charged with terroristic threats, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, possession of stolen property, possession of methamphetamine, three additional counts of possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl, Oxycodone, and Dilaudid) and open container.

He was identified as Eric Spencer Thomas Jones, 34, of Colorado.
