State patrol investigating death in Banner County

The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating an incident that occurred Monday morning in Banner County.

HARRISBURG - The Nebraska State Patrol is investigating an incident that resulted in the death of a male subject in Banner County Monday morning. 

State patrol spokesman Cody Thomas says the Banner County Sheriff's office was attempting to serve a protection order and arrest warrant for Kevin Wynne, 62, of Harrisburg, at 6:25 a.m.

According to the investigation, the Sheriff was attempting to make contact with subject inside a Harrisburg residence when Wynne exited the rear of the residence. The Sheriff heard two gunshots and Wynne was found deceased from self-inflicted gunshot wounds near a corral. 

The Banner County Attorney has requested the Nebraska State Patrol to conduct the investigation into the incident The investigation is ongoing.
