SIDNEY-- The Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce is reporting an increase in membership.

Chamber President/CEO Toshia Jones presented her quarterly report to the Cheyenne County Commissioners Monday morning. She said as of this morning, membership is at 205, with 17 new members.

She said some of the new features of the Chamber is the Employee of the Month, Member of the Week, and implementation an electronic version of Chamber Bucks.

She said the revised Chamber Bucks program is similar to a debit card. Transactions can be done at any participating business.

Red Carpet training is a program about hospitality with a focus on how to best engage with people visiting Cheyenne County. The training encourages people who work with the public to know about local attractions, events, restaurants and stores and how to promote them to visitors.

This program was held 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, at the Visitors Center in Potter. The program is being held in partnership with UNL Rural Prosperity and the  Cheyenne County Chamber of Commerce.

She also said the Chat with the Chamber breakfast meeting will be held 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Dude's Steakhouse in Sidney. Jones said the Chat with the Chamber event is an opportunity for the public to learn what is happening within the Chamber.
