Authorities arrest Denver man on drug charges at Morrill convenience store

A Denver man was arrested by authorities at a convenience store in Morrill this week after police discovered a plastic bag of methamphetamine during a search of his vehicle.

MORRILL - A Denver man was arrested by authorities at a convenience store in Morrill this week after police discovered a plastic bag of methamphetamine during a search of his vehicle. 

Police say Tomas Venegas, 37, was taken into custody when the bag, weighing 346 grams, was found in a backpack on the passenger side of the vehicle. They also located two plastic bags of fentanyl pills, weighing 182 grams, and 14.2 grams of cocaine, and two firearms. 

Venegas was arrested for possession of Methamphetamine, Fentanyl, Cocaine, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Prohibited Person and Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony.

His bond is set for $550,000.
