Scottsbluff officers respond to report of stolen vehicle

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Authorities arrested a man suspected of stealing a vehicle in Scottsbluff.

According to police, witnesses told authorities they saw an intoxicated Angelo Schmidt, 27, take a vehicle. Schmidt reportedly wrecked the vehicle on South Beltline Highway.

Once contact was made with Schmidt, they found a can of beer and marijuana. In the wrecked vehicle, police found an open bottle of tequila that was only 1/3 full and more beer.

Schmidt was arrested for Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Possession of Marijuana, and Open Container.
