Cheyenne County Chamber announces Downtown Sounds summer lineup
SIDNEY - Sidney's free summer concert series will feature a variety of music this year in Hickory Street Square.
Members of the Cheyenne County Chamber's Downtown Sounds Committee announced the concert lineup Thursday on 987 The Big Boy.
Committee Chair Emily Thomas says they're incorporating feedback they received last year, including more seating in shaded areas.
"We did take some really good feedback from the community," Thomas said. "We're super excited. We have Todd Carrasco on board. He's kind of our music guru. He led us through it and I think he helped us come up with some really good band choices this year. So, we're excited!"
The first of three Downtown Sounds concerts will be on Friday, June 16. The show will feature Dance Machine, from Denver. They're a 10-piece cover band playing a variety of dance music from the 60s and 70s to the 80s and modern music. Carrasco will also be performing with the band.
The Raygunomics, out of Denver, will cover 80s and 90s hits during the Friday, July 21st show. Downtown Sounds wraps up the 2023 season on Friday, Aug. 18 with The Rhett Haney Band. Rhett has been performing country music for more than 20 years in the Denver area.
Gates open for all shows at 5:30 p.m. Music starts at approximately 6 p.m. Admission is free for all ages. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from area vendors.
