NORTH PLATTE, Neb. -- Authorities said they arrested a person in North Platte following a brief pursuit with a large box truck.

The Nebraska State Patrol, along with assistance from the North Platte Police Department, arrested 32-year-old Jeremiah Hebner of North Platte.

Around 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, the NSP said a trooper saw a large box truck driving with defective lights on Highway 83 in North Platte near W Rodeo Road.

According to authorities, the trooper tried to pull over the truck, but the driver, Hebner, refused to stop, jumped a curb, and fled through a parking lot.

NSP said Hebner then sideswiped a building and came to a stop near W Rodeo Road and N Sycamore St.

Hebner then fled on foot and was not immediately arrested, said officials.

NSP said the truck was determined to be stolen from a business in North Platte.

The trooper said they found multiple items inside the truck that belonged to the driver.

On Wednesday morning, NSP said the business from where the truck was stolen reported finding a wallet where the truck had been parked.

NSP said the items in the wallet matched the identifying items that had been found inside the truck.

The North Platte PD said they found Hebner and took him into custody on Wednesday.

Hebner was arrested for flight to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving, driving under suspension, and theft by unlawful taking of more than $5,000.

He was lodged in the Lincoln County Jail.
