The Kimball Volunteer Fire Department will be keeping families busy on the 4th of July.

Firefighters will be at Gotte Park from 10:00am to noon on the 4th. They will be giving rides to kids on the fire engines.

"We will have two pumpers and our old parade truck there," said Andrew Bohac, the Kimball Volunteer Department Chief. They will be north of the gazebo near the basketball courts. The firefighters will also have a hose out so kids can squirt water and see what is like to fight a fire.

After the sun goes down, the firefighters will move to horseshoe hill for a 30-45 minute firework display.

They will begin work on the display this Sunday by cleaning up the hill, and start setting mortars. It is a three day process culminating in the two hour process of wiring the finale of the show.

The bleachers at Kimball High School will be open for the display however it can be seen from most of the city. First Tier Bank is in their 4th year sponsoring the display.
