Authorities locate missing jet skier at Lake McConaughy
LAKE MCCONAUGHY - Emergency personnel were rushed to Lake McConaughy Friday for a report of a missing jet skier in dangerous water conditions with a thunderstorm approaching the Keith County recreational area.
Keystone-Lemoyne Fire and Rescue said a jet ski with one individual was found on the beach 3/4 of a mile away from their launch point near Arthur Bay. One female passenger was unaccounted for.
Nebraska Game and Parks conservation officers on a rescue boat recovered the female approximately a half-mile from the beach attempting to swim to shore. She was brought to shore, checked by Regional Medical Emergency Medical Technicians and released to family.
Lake McConaughy Dive Rescue, Regional West , Keith County Emergency Management, Nebraska Game and Parks, Keystone-Lemoyne Fire and Rescue all responded to the scene.
