Chief Jose Ruiz of the Kimball Police Department has announced a new Facebook page for the department. The Kimball Nebraska Police Department page was started on June 16th and covers updates on police activity along with department information. You will also find severe weather and other community safety information on the page.

The page states that it was "...created to enhance communication with the public and allows for comments and postings. We hope you will follow us, respectfully interact, and voice your thoughts."

The Facebook page is one component of a new push to improve transparency with the community. Chief Ruiz is also giving notes at the City Council meetings now. That will provide up to date information about police activity to the full council. He also provided an on-air interview to 104.3 KIMB on Tuesday morning.
