KIMBALL -- Kimball County Transit Services celebrated new options in their program July 11-12.

The celebration brought out the opportunity to win an outdoor patio set, or a 52-inch lawn mower.

"Opening day was amazing. We able to get all the vehicles to all the different locations all day long, from starting at 3:30 in the morning and we finished at 8:30 last night," Christy Warner said July 12.

Among the announcements, KCTS revealed additional service areas in the Panhandle.

"We've got our new routes up and going, not only to Scottsbluff but to Sidney and on to Chappell. Thank you to the City of Sidney and the Sidney Stage Coach we have a great place to do a park and ride," Warner said.

The service from Kimball to Chappell is called the "Sunline Route," because that's where the sun rises, in the east, Warner said. The route includes a partnership with Sidney's transportation system. Warner said a customer can use Sidney's Stage Coach to a pickup point on the Sunline Route.

Sidney's Public Transportation Director Kasey Kantor said partnering with KCTS has gone well.

"She works and communicates so well that it makes everything smooth-running for everyone. When she wanted to partner, she had all her ducks in a row so all we had to do is say 'yes'," Kantor said.

KCTS is located at 233 S. Chestnut St., Kimball.
