Rainy day pushes much of Nebraska Amateur's first round back to Friday

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. -- They're back on the course at Scottsbluff Country Club for the Nebraska Amateur on Friday.
The first round was delayed by several hours due to heavy rain on Thursday. It was then suspended before 5:00 due to continued damp conditions.
Omaha Skutt grad and current Creighton Bluejay Charlie Zielinski entered Friday with the top score of those who have been on the course.
Zielinski was four-under through 12 holes.
Only 16 competitors completed their first round on Thursday, with none of the of the players who carded 18 holes able to get under par.
Seventy-six golfers entered Friday without having played a hole in the tournament yet.
Play was scheduled to resume at 7:30 a.m. Mountain Time.
Barring any further delays, the championship is scheduled to conclude on Sunday.
