Foods won't disappoint at the 2023 Cheyenne County Fair
Bring your appetite to the Cheyenne County Fair. Vendors are offering everything from spicy fried pickles to brisket.

SIDNEY -- The aroma of "everything deep-fried" is warming up at the Cheyenne County Fairgrounds.
The courtyard between the arena and 4-H building is temporary home to several varieties of a Fair diet, from snow cones to funnel cakes, and brisket nachos.
This year's food vendors include Sweet Ice, Jimmy L's, the Popkorn Express and Wildhay Cafe. Menus vary from custom funnel cakes to pork or brisket nachos, and the traditional hot dogs and hamburgers.
For Wildhay Cafe, the name is symbolic of the owners' hometown, Barlett, Neb. Stephen and Teresa Tunender started their enterprise as an idea that grew into a food trailer and a lot of traveling. They say the traveling is a change from his history in sheep shearing, then construction. They enjoy meeting new people and offering options to county fair supporters.
Vendors are setting their wares today in anticipation of tonight's Fair Queen ceremony, barrel racing and PRCA rodeo. Tonight will also be the opening night of the Cheyenne County Fair beer garden, starting at 6 p.m. today.
The carnival is also being assembled in anticipation of children and adults enjoying the county fair experience through the rest of the week.
