SIDNEY - Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible across the Nebraska Panhandle and southeast Wyoming Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service office in Cheyenne.

The NWS says a few storms may be strong to severe with large hail, strong winds and heavy rain possible. An isolated tornado can't be ruled out.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until midnight Sunday for the entire Nebraska Panhandle and Goshen County in southeast Wyoming.

Daily chances for afternoon and evening thunderstorms continue for the week ahead, according to the weather service. They say confidence is increasing that a significant push of monsoon moisture will arrive early this week, bringing more widespread thunderstorms and heavy rainfall.
