Bulldogs anxious for gridiron season

PEETZ, Colo. -- The Peetz Bullogs are days away from their 2023 season opener for the football season.
"We're really excited about the football season this year. We're kind of senior heavy, so we have a lot of experience back from last year and a lot of excitement from our new kids coming up," and Dylon Rinaldo.
This is Rinaldo's first year as the Bulldogs' head coach. He said he is hoping to build on the excitement in the team.
"Hopefully, we can just build upon that throughout the season, keep it going all year long," Rinaldo said.
He said there are 18 players out as of August 17. He said there might be a few more now that school is underway.
Predicting a season's success vs losses is a challenge this early, he said.
"Right now, from what I can tell, with the experience that will help us, it's hard to say with the other teams around the league, but hopefully we can stay competitive," he said.
The Bulldogs have a scrimmage match at Otis Saturday, August 19. The first regular season game is 4 p.m. August 25 at Kiowa; busses leave at noon.
