SIDNEY -- Gone are the days of a dated and predictable appearance at the Sapp Bros. convenience store and fuel stop in Sidney. A new look was officially unveiled Thursday following an estimated $500,000 in work.

The work might have been an inconvenience for a time, but customers now experience a new and more efficient stop in their travels, according to General Manager Ginger Cowne.

"The work that was done here is all new flooring, all new sub. boards, we have new showers, we've got new doors, we've got a new office, new storage area, we've got a new hot water heater, a new roof," Cowne said. "So, we are excited. We have all new lighting. We have a new kitchen area, a huge renovation for Sapps."

Cowne said Sapps continues to be family owned business.

"Sapps has been around for 50 years," Cowne said. "It's a family-owned organization. Bill Sapp was the last of the original brothers that started the organization, and now their grandson Andy Richards has taken over as CEO. We have some new chief operating officers and finance folks, but it's still family-run."

She said Sapps is also planning a new travel center in south Utah.
