Scottsbluff structure fire update

A structure fire broke out in the 1700th block of 8th avenue at around 9:00pm on Tuesday.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - A structure fire broke out in the 1700th block of 8th avenue at around 9:00pm on Tuesday.

According to Scottsbluff Fire Chief Tom Schingle, an estimated amount of $5,000-$6,000 was lost during the fire as enough damage was done for the garage to be removed and replaced.

Fire crews arrived within 3 minutes and 30 seconds from the fire call and the fire was controlled within 6 minutes.

Fire crews from Scottsbluff, Gering remained on scene for roughly 45 minutes.

Valley Ambulance, and Scottsbluff Police Department also assisted during the fire, as the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
