Western Nebraska Pioneers moving into new league

GERING, Neb. (KNEP) - The Western Nebraska Pioneers announcing on Wednesday that the team will be joining the Rocky Mountain Baseball League for the upcoming season.

Following a meeting earlier this week and a vote the league granted admission to the Pioneers along with Colorado Springs, and Fort Collins.

With the addition of the three new teams the Rocky Mountain League will now have nine teams. The league plays a 32 game league schedule with each team playing approximately 54 total games mixing in non league teams and additional non league games.

The Pioneers plan to play 54 games in 2024 with 36 home games set. The new season begins May 28th of 2024.
