Kimball High School graduate dies in Wyoming traffic accident

James Milton Koenig better known to friends as simply "Koe," died in a traffic accident south of Cheyenne September 1st.

Koenig was born in Lincoln but grew up on his families ranch near Kimball. Koenig excelled at sports while he attended Kimball High School. While he ran track, played basketball and wrestled, he favored football. He continued to support the team after he graduated in 1982.

After receiving his bachelors degree at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Koenig returned to Kimball. He worked for Snap-On for over twenty years.

He lived in Cheyenne at the time of the accident. He leaves behind his wife Darla and two adult sons.
