Danny Woodhead among nine greats inducted into Eagles Athletic Hall of Fame

One of college football’s most record breaking players returning to his backyard. Danny Woodhead was among nine former Eagles to make the 2023 Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame.

CHADRON, Neb. (KNEP) - One of college football’s most record breaking players returning to his backyard. Danny Woodhead was among nine former Eagles to make the 2023 Eagle Athletic Hall of Fame.

During his career at Chadron State he broke several big NCAA records including the single season rushing record at 2,756 yards. Career rushing yards at 7,441 yards and career all purpose yards at 9,259 yards.

He also was a two time Harlon Hill Trophy winner given to the best player in NCAA Division Two.

Woodhead would continue his playing career in the NFL playing for ten seasons.

Joining Woodhead in the Class of 2023 is Robbie Klinetobe (Football), Jared Lee (Football), Chase Olsen (Football), Kalan Jones (Football), Amanda Owens Cecilio (Track and Field), Emily Volkmer Cheetsos (Track and Field), Jack Sides (Track and Field), and Jennifer Luatua (Volleyball).
