UPDATE: Law enforcement investigation shows no credible threat

SIDNEY (September 28, 2023) -- Sidney Public School District officials announced a "security concern" at one of the elementary school buildings Thursday morning.

Officials followed the District's protocols, contacting local law enforcement, according to Superintendent Andrew Farber.

"The district would like to reassure the community that students are safe and we are continuing to provide a quality education," Farber said in a written statement.

After further conversation pertaining to the security incident at West Elementary, law enforcement indicated there was no credible threat and the district is safe. Officials will continue to investigate the situation as needed.
