Authorities investigating morning death

Cheyenne County and Sidney authorities responded to a medical call at Illinois Street and Fort Sidney Road this morning. The incident is still under investigation.

SIDNEY (Nov. 3, 2023) -- Sidney police and Cheyenne County Sheriff's officials were called to a lot just east of the railroad overpass and Illinois Street/U.S. 30 this morning regarding a possible death.

Deputies responded to a medical call of a male outside of a vehicle bleeding from his head at the intersection of Fort Sidney Road and Illinois Street.

County Attorney Paul Schaub said the incident involves a male in his early 20s. 

Gehrig-Stitt Funeral Home director Gordy Stitt was seen arriving at the scene this morning.
