Scotts Bluff, Kimball Counties agree on Veteran Service Officer

Scotts Bluff and Kimball Counties have made an agreement to contract a Veteran Services Officer.

GERING, Neb. (KNEP) - Scotts Bluff and Kimball Counties have made an agreement to contract a Veteran Services Officer.

On Monday, the Scotts Bluff County Board of Commissioners approved an agreement to allow Matt Meyers to serve as the Kimball County Veteran Services Officer. The agreement was first discussed on Nov. 6 and both counties have finalized the needed paperwork.

The agreement started on Dec. 1 and will last for seven months. The agreement has Meyers traveling to Kimball County two times through out the week to help with veteran claims and paperwork, Kimball County will still have a person to do the daily office responsibilities.

Kimball County will pay $855 per month and reimburse Meyers for his trips. The counties will discuss the contract again before each county makes a budget for the next fiscal year.
