Keith County EMS, fire departments respond to structure fire

Multiple units responded to a structure fire in Ogallala December 13. No injuries were reported. The state fire marshal is investigating the incident.

OGALLALA, Neb. -- A county-wide page in Keith County was issued at about 5:45 p.m. December 13 in response to a report structure fire in Ogallala. 

Ogallala firefighters and equipment, and Keith County EMS responded. The Brule Fire Department responded with command and engine. Paxton responders were canceled enroute. 

The Ogallala Volunteer Fire Department firefighters entered the building and extinguished a basement fire in about 15 minutes. Salvage, overhaul and hot spot search took about a hour. EMS on the scene evaluated occupants of the building, but no one was transported. No injuries were reported.

According to reports, the structure is uninhabitable. The Nebraska State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
