Study shows Kimball would be best location for new Racino

A report commissioned by the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission and completed by the Innovation Group of New Orleans shows that if just one more horse track and casino is licensed in Nebraska, it should be located in Kimball.
The report, that NRGC Chairman Danny Lee says is preliminary and subject to amendment, puts one major hurdle in front of a Kimball racino. It states that the existing six licenses are enough to triple or even quadruple racing revenue for the state of Nebraska. "The data does not support the addition of more racing licenses," the report reads.
If additional licenses are issued the most additional revenue without cannibalizing existing racing business would come from Kimball, the report states. Gehring is a close second behind Kimball, with North Platte being selected the third best location.
The NRGC plans to take up the report at its next meeting to be held January 19th.
