Bomgaars 'Ladies Night' results in $1,700 donation to Night of Hope Cancer Walk

SIDNEY -- About two months ago, Bomgaars in Sidney opened its doors to shoppers, and also benefitting Night of Hope. Early this afternoon, Bomgaars presented a $1,732.66 check to the Night of Hope.

Officially, the event was called "Ladies Night," but the store was open to anyone. Bomgaars donated a percent of the night's shopping to the Night of Hope.

"It wasn't just Ladies Night. Guys were invited by themselves," said Store Manager Beau Cullum

Night of Hope board President Kim Phillips said the shopping event started with Bomgaars reaching out to the Night of Hope.

"Bomgaars reached out. This is our third year. We held it on November 5th 2023. Five percent of their sales went to what they call their local cancer foundation, which in Sidney is the Night of Hope Walk for Cancer. The Night of Hope came out and set up a booth. We gave away cups this year," said Phillips.

Phillips said the proceeds from the Ladies Night are up from 2022. She is already setting her goals high for 2024.

Store Manager Beau Cullum said the store also gave away prizes, and offered coffee and water, and snacks. The event was held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

"This will definitely help cancer patients here in Sidney and surrounding areas," Phillips said.

The Night of Hope Board plans to meet in March to organize for the campaign to begin in April.
