Morrill County ballot heavy with school board seats

As of today, January 30, Morrill County voters will see more school board seats on the ballot than political contests, according to information provided by Morrill County Clerk Kathleen Brandt.

MORRILL COUNTY -- Voters in Morrill County will see more seats to consider on school boards than political races.

County voters will have one commissioner position to consider and the Clerk of the District Court.

As of this afternoon, Morrill County Clerk Kathleen Brandt has received one application for commissioner: incumbent Josh Schmidt.

Incumbent Diane Kraus has filed for the Bayard city council seat, No one has filed for the city council Bridgeport, according to Brandt.

Brandt said there are seats open in the Bayard and Bridgeport school boards. For Bridgeport School District No. 63, three incumbents have filed and one non-incumbent. The candidates to date are: Ryan Amateis, Kay Anderson and Linda Norman (incumbents); and Greg Carrier is the non-incumbent candidate.  

Bayard School District No. 21 has one incumbent and one non-incumbent who has filed. The Incumbent is Kimberly Burry  and the non incumbent is Christina Mascher.
