Suspect in Kimball standoff surrenders

Nicholas King, 31, of Kimball surrendered to the Kimball County Sheriff's Office at about 10:30 a.m. Friday morning, he had arranged the surrender earlier in the day No bond has been set. His surrender came after a nearly 12 hour standoff yesterday at his home in Kimball.
Police contacted him yesterday morning as they were investigating a reported domestic dispute. As police told him of misdemeanor charges he would face as a result of their investigation, King made terroristic threats before barricading himself in his home in the 300 block of south Cedar St.
Kimball Police, Kimball County Sheriff, and Nebraska State Patrol kept the home surrounded until nearly 10:00 p.m. Thursday night before deciding that it was in the best interest of the public to end the standoff.
Nicholas was arrested for obstructing a peace officer, domestic assault and terroristic threats. He remains in the Kimball County Jail.
