Robinson waives preliminary hearing, case bound over to District Court.

Nathan Robinson appeared in Cheyenne County Court this morning, waiving his right to a preliminary hearing regarding. He is scheduled to next appear in Cheyenne County District Court March 6.

SIDNEY -- Nathan Robinson appeared before Hon. Judge Randin Roland via video conference for a status hearing regarding charges of Robbery, Theft and Elder Abuse.

He waived is right to a preliminary hearing, which resulted in his case moving to Cheyenne County District Court.

He is scheduled to appear in District Court at 1 p.m. March 6.

At 3:25 a.m.  Jan. 17, 2024, Sidney Police Department responded to the Western Heritage Apartments on a report of and 84-year-old woman needing assistance from medical personnel for injuries believed to be from an assault.

Officers determined that a male known to the woman, Nathan J. Robinson, had been allowed into her apartment at which time he assaulted her and stole her 2012 Chevy Cruz. The victim was treated and released from Sidney Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injures.

The Canon City, Colo., police were contacted by Sidney Police. Canon City authorities were told Robinson was believed to be in their area and to be on the look out. Canon City Police were contacted by a local convenience store staff member who reported a suspicious vehicle and occupants. He was arrested on the Nebraska warrant with a $100,000 bond. The second person in the vehicle was not taken into custody.
