Spring storm closes Northeast Colorado roads
Winter weather warnings and advisories remain in effect for Northeast Colorado and parts of the Nebraska Panhandle.
PANHANDLE -- The spring snow that started in parts of northeast Colorado and the Nebraska Panhandle Wednesday night is closing roads in the region.
Winter weather warnings and advisories were posted early this morning impacting areas from Logan County, Colo., to Perkins County, Neb.
The spring storm has resulted in some road closures in the area. Interstate 76 from Sterling (Exit 125) and the Nebraska State Line (milepost 184) is closed due to conditions. The Colorado Department of Transportation advises to expect delays due to conditions.
U.S. 34 in Colorado is closed between Fort Morgan and Laird due to conditions. U.S. 34 is reported to have snow with ice and snow packed. Earlier today, U.S. 34 west of Yuma was closed due to an accident.
Colorado counties under a Winter Storm Warning include Sedgwick, Logan, Phillips, and Washington. Residents are reporting as much as 10 inches of snow in Fleming, Colo.
Nebraska 511 is reporting Interstate 80 partially covered between 16 miles east of Sidney and 18 miles east of Ogallala.
U.S. Highway 30 is reported to be partially covered between Sunol and Chappell. Driving conditions on U.S. 30 between Bushnel and Dix were reported by Nebraska 511 to be normal.
The National Weather Service reports snow could continue in the Cheyenne County area through the night, with scattered showers predicted for Friday morning.
