North Elementary opens doors for farewell celebration.

On May 10, North Elementary will be closing the book on its history in educating Sidney children. A farewell celebration is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m.

SIDNEY -- North Elementary staff and students invite the public to its farewell celebration.

After more than 90 years, the back cover of this book of education is being closed. The school board decided to close the school in part because of loss of funding. Third and fourth grade students and staff will be moved to South and West Elementary schools.

On Friday, May 10, North Elementary will host an open house in celebration of its time serving the families of north Sidney. The celebration starts at 12:30 p.m. wit the final picture of North students, followed by students performing for parents and the community. 

Snacks will be available from 12:50 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. After dismissal, an Open House will take place with guided tours.
