Linemen make progress, discover more damage

Wheat Belt Public Power District officials are reporting crews continue to find broken lines and power poles. The company remains focused on having irrigation accounts active by May 15.

PANHANDLE -- Wheat Belt Public Power District reports crews continue to find more damage as they are conducting repairs from the storm.

They are working to get the more than 150 services still without power restored.

All of the mutual aid crews have gone home. However, Wheat Belt has contractor crews assisting linemen in rebuilding line. Wheat Belt says its goal is to have the irrigation accounts up and running by May 15.
 
Additionally, much of the Panhandle is predicted to see possible rain throughout the weekend.
 
The National Weather Service predicts a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m. today with some of the storms producing small hail and gusty winds. Rain and thunderstorms are expected to continue tonight with a 90 percent chance of precipitation.
 
Showers and possible thunderstorms continue Friday with chances of rain throughout the weekend.
