Work on U.S. Highway 30 to begin May 20

GERING -- Weather permitting, work will begin May 20 on U.S. 30 from Chappell to U.S. 138 West in Keith County from reference post 87.36 to reference post 108.

Project to impact Chappell to U.S. Highway 138

GERING -- Weather permitting, work will begin May 20 on U.S. 30 from Chappell to U.S. 138 West in Keith County, according to the Nebraska Department of Transportation.

Paulson, Inc. of Cozad is the contractor for the project. Work includes bridge work, new culvert installations, asphalt milling and overlay, earth shoulder construction and permanent pavement marking.

Traffic will be maintained lane restrictions, a pilot car and flaggers, and temporary traffic signals. Follow the marked route. N-27 will remain open from Interstate 80 to Oshkosh. U.S. 30 will be closed to through traffic from Chappell to N-27, and from N-27 south to U.S. 138 West. An 11-foot width restriction will be in effect.

Anticipated completion is November 2024.

Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously in and near work zones, to buckle up and to put phones down.
