Sidney, Scottsbluff, Ogallala, Sterling among communities in severe thunderstorm watch
Strong to severe thunderstorms, with large hail and strong winds, are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening in the Nebraska Panhandle, northeast Colorado and eastern Wyoming, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS placed the region in a severe thunderstorm watch until 9 p.m. Wednesday. Hail up to ping pong ball size and scattered wind gusts up to 70 mph are the main concern. However, a couple tornadoes can't be ruled out.
The weather service says an active weather pattern will continue through the weekend with daily chances for showers and thunderstorms. Summertime temperatures will be on the horizon for next week.
