Police arrest three people involved in store burglary in Alliance
ALLIANCE - Three suspects were arrested following a burglary at The Mission Store in Alliance early Friday morning.
Authorities say a passing taxi driver noticed suspicious activity and reported a burglary in progress at 203 Box Butte Ave. a t approximately 12:51 a.m. The driver observed the store's south entrance door had been broken and a person in a black hoodie entering the building.
Officers from the Alliance Police Department responded to the scene within two minutes, where they found clothes and jewelry scattered on the store's floor.
While officers searched the store for any remaining suspects, a Nebraska State Patrol Trooper, who had heard the call, began canvassing the nearby area. The trooper soon discovered three suspects in the parking lot of the Alliance Grocery Cart. The individuals were in possession of several items believed to have been stolen from The Mission Store.
A trail of stolen goods led directly from the store to where the suspects were apprehended. The suspects, identified as Andrew Flye (DOB 3/25/1993), Julian Poor Bear (DOB 2/1/1991) and Jacob Zier (DOB 9/3/1991), were taken into custody and charged with multiple felonies, including burglary, criminal mischief, and possession of stolen property.
The stolen property was recovered and returned to the store.
