SIDNEY (October 25, 2024) -- The Sidney High School girls cross country team is excited to see what they can do at the state meet today.
Kylee Kampfe is proud of what the girls team did at districts this year. She was nervous for the meet at first but was excited when she heard that they would be going to State with the team there with her. She had gone to state last year and was happy about everything that happened last season. She hopes that the team places and they have a great meet. Some of the girls hit their PR’s in Kearney this year which is where the state meet is so the team hopes to do the same again while placing too.
Kampfe began falling in love with running when she was a little kid running around the yard with her brother playing tag. Her parents realized that she was a strong runner and that she was good at it. Her dad has a friend with sons who ran cross country. The two of them talked about her running cross country and helping her with it. She decided she would try it and it has turned out great.
She is excited for the meet and can’t wait to see where it takes her and how her season ends. She hopes to have more growth with the state meet as well as the rest of the girls along with her.
