OGALLALA, Neb. - The Ogallala Police Department has issued a warning to residents regarding a new scam targeting potential renters in the area.

According to a recent report, an individual posing as a landlord attempted to scam residents by advertising rental properties at a legitimate Ogallala address. The scammer was requiring prospective renters to pay a deposit simply to view the property.

Fortunately, those who reported the incident to law enforcement did not fall victim to the scheme, choosing instead to alert authorities.
