VALENTINE, Neb. - You can check out hundreds of guns at the Heart City Gun Show in Valentine, Nebraska this weekend. The event’s organizer says she saw a need for an event like this in the community.

“There hasn’t been a gun show in Valentine for more than 16 years. The closest ones are in North Platte or O’Neill,” said Dawn Shelbourn.

The show will take place in the former Shopko building at 525 E Highway 20, running from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

“We have vendors coming in from Nebraska, Colorado, and South Dakota,” said Shelbourn.

With 112 tables, visitors can expect a range of items including firearms, ammunition, furs, home goods, and crafts. Coffee and food vendors will also be on site.

“We want to create an experience. There will be something for everyone,” said Shelbourn.

Admission is $5 per adult, with free entry for children ten and under. It's sponsored by Tooth & Whisker Outdoors.
