KIMBALL - A winter weather advisory is in effect until 11 a.m. Saturday for Kimball and Laramie Counties, as a storm system moving up from the south is expected to bring several inches of snow to the area.

According to the National Weather Service office, lower elevations in Laramie and Kimball counties are forecasted to see 2 to 3 inches of snow, with 4 to 6 inches expected over the Interstate 80 Summit between Cheyenne and Laramie.

The weather service warns that travel could be hazardous due to slippery road conditions and low visibility. Those planning to be on the roads Friday evening should expect delays and exercise caution. Travelers are advised to slow down and stay informed about road conditions at newschannelnebraska.com.

The snow is expected to continue into Saturday morning, adding to an already wintry stretch for the region, especially along the plains of eastern Colorado. Looking ahead, another upper-level disturbance is forecast to move in Sunday night through Monday, which could bring strong winds.
