Jadyn Lee wins division at Southwest Girls Wrestling Invite Saturday

BARTLEY, Neb. — Senior Jadyn Lee captured the 120-pound title with a fall victory over Ogallala’s Jalie Barnhill in just 1:32 and the Sidney Wrestling Team finished sixth at the Southwest High School Girls Invite Saturday with 82 points.
At 170 pounds, senior Saphira Whitley earned runner-up honors, falling to Arcadia-Loup City’s Rylee Kursave in the finals at 4:23.
Other notable efforts included freshman Reina Buettenback, who placed sixth at 135 pounds, and sophomore Auriella Walters, who finished 10th at 140 pounds. Freshman Rene Grumbianin took eighth in the 125-pound bracket, while Leeann Mulleavey added a fourth-place finish at 235 pounds.
Host team Southwest claimed the team championship with 150 points, narrowly edging Minden, which finished second with 148 points. McCook rounded out the top three with 104 points. Red Cloud Blue Hill (91 points) and Ansley-Litchfield (89 points) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Bayard's Carlie Mckibbin pinned Gabriela Aguilar, of Wray, to win the 100-pound division. Hayley Rusher, of Chase County, took home the gold at 155 pounds.
