Alliance, NE – Two men are in custody in connection with a September ATM theft.

In a significant development related to the attempted ATM theft that occurred on September 1, 2024, the Alliance Police Department has helped identify and two individuals have been arrested in connection to the crime following an extensive investigation.  

Through the course of the investigation, DNA evidence was retrieved from the vehicle used in the attempted theft and sent to the Nebraska State Crime Lab for analysis. A positive DNA match led to the identification of two individuals involved in the crime.  

The first suspect, Carlos Luis Zambrano Bolivar, was linked to the vehicle through DNA evidence and has been identified as the primary individual involved in the attempted theft. Further investigation revealed Zambrano Bolivar is currently facing charges in Texas for capital murder and two counts of aggravated kidnapping. He is presently awaiting indictment for these charges.  

The second individual identified through the DNA analysis is Jhonatan Nahin Toro Gonzalez. Gonzalez was also inside the vehicle at the time of the attempted theft. He has been placed under arrest and is awaiting indictment in Texas on charges related to capital murder and multiple counts of kidnapping.

The identification of these suspects was made possible through collaboration between the Alliance Police Department and multiple state and federal agencies, demonstrating the strength of interagency cooperation in solving complex cases. The joint investigation not only led to the identification of the suspects but also uncovered their involvement in significant criminal activity across state lines.  

Both suspects are currently in custody.
