Car vs pedestrian accident results in minor injuries

A car vs. pedestrian crash occurred Thursday afternoon, resulting in minor injuries of a Kimball woman.

KIMBALL -- A car vs. pedestrian crash occurred Thursday afternoon, resulting in minor injuries of a Kimball woman. 

At approximately 12:20 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, the Kimball Police Department received a call about a car vs. pedestrian crash. 

According to Chief of Police Jose Ruiz, a 39-year-old woman was crossing East 3rd Street when she was struck by a car that was on South Chestnut Street turning onto East 3rd Street. 

Emergency services were immediately dispatched, and the woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The KPD extends their gratitude to the Kimball County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance on the scene and the emergency medical healthcare professionals for their swift response and aid. 

“We ask everyone to remain vigilant while driving and walking in our community,” the department posted in a statement. “Safety is a shared responsibility, and together, we can prevent tragedies.”
