Alicia M. Ramsey
Alicia M. Ramsey, age 90, of Dix, Nebraska passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at the Kimball County Manor. Cremation has been held and memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Brandon Yuill officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Dix Cemetery. Friends may visit www.cantrellfh.com to leave condolences and share stories with the family. Alicia Mae Ramsey (Adams) was born in Newton County Arkansas to Claude and Walsie (Farmer) Adams on January 8, 1935. She lived in Arkansas until February 10, 1950 when she married Gerald Ramsey. They moved to Borger Texas. They followed the oil field and went to Wyoming and eventually ended up in Nebraska. They had 10 children altogether:4 boys and 6 girls. They owned and operated The Pink Panther Cafe in Dix during that time. Alicia later waited tables, cooked, did home health care and eventually retired working at Cabela’s. She later did some more home health care as well.
She was an avid crocheter. Most of her grandchildren were gifted with a colorful handmade blanket at their birth. Her family loved her cooking and shared her zucchini bar and brownie recipe. She enjoyed afternoons spent with her family playing canasta, pool dice, dominos, wahoo or moon. She loved family gatherings filled with music and food. She had a great sense of humor and could give it as well as she could take it.
Alicia was preceded in death by three sisters, her husband Gerald and three children Charley, Gerald and Claudia. She is survived by her sister Edna. She is also survived by her son Albert Ramsey of Dix, her daughter and son-in-law Marie and Ted Gawith of Bushnell, daughter Linda Arndt of Marshall, Missouri, daughter and son-in-law Cheryl and Bill Fox of Dix, son and daughter -in-law Howard and Jackie Ramsey of Dix, daughter and son-in-law Hellen and Manuel Jimenez of Gering, and her daughter Ann Kreisel of Houstonia, Missouri. She has many generations of grandchildren surviving as well.
