Human remains found near home of missing Lincoln man

LINCOLN, Neb. — Authorities are investigating a suspicious death after a body was discovered in a wooded area near Highway 77 and W. Pioneers on Saturday morning.
The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were dispatched to the area at approximately 9:43 a.m. on a report of a deceased individual.
According to LSO, crime scene investigators determined the body had been at the location for an extended period of time. Due to details at the scene and the proximity to the last known location of missing Lincoln man Tyler Goodrich, investigators have contacted Goodrich’s family. However, officials have not confirmed the identity of the deceased.
LSO emphasized the case is being treated as a suspicious death but not a homicide at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, March 10, to assist in identifying the individual and determining the cause of death.
Authorities plan to provide further updates during a press briefing at 9:30 a.m. CST Monday.
