Richard was born on February 17, 1951, in Sidney, NE to Helen & George Allison. Richard spent his younger years in Los Angeles and eventually the family moved back to Sidney where he attended and graduated from Sidney High School. He went onto technical training and mastered welding which made a successful career. Eventually Rich settled in San Diego, CA, married and had his daughter Bobbi-Ann “Bobbi.”
As the aerospace industry began to explode, he was offered a position with Precision Castparts Corp. in Portland, OR, during the mid-1990’s, a leading manufacturer of large, complex structural investment castings for the aerospace industry. This was a dream come true for an exceptionally talented welder. Rich was in the game as a titanium welder in aerospace. In addition, he was honored to be the first to weld prototypes for Trek and Harley-Davisson. Most everyone knew Rich was a sports enthusiast “understatement,” he loved football and was a die-hard Cornhusker, he could tell you stats for all the games, but his true love was GOLF.
His love for the game was uncanny, he could make shots that were pretty amazing, he remained laser-focus with every swing he made. Rain or shine if the course was open, he was playing. He made life-long friends through the game of golf.
Richard was predeceased by his mother Helen Allison, brother Butch Allison and sister Marilyn Brown.
Richard is survived by his daughter Bobbi-Ann Allison Ogburn, son-in-law Jason, and grandchildren Zoey & Bronson, three nephews and great-nephews and nieces. Although Richard and Bernadette did not remain married, they remained friends and loving parents to their daughter Bobbi.
