SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – The City of Scottsbluff has named Elaine Bleisch as the new director of the Lied Scottsbluff Public Library, City Manager Kevin Spencer announced Friday.

Bleisch steps into the role with years of experience in library management and a background in community outreach and literacy advocacy. She previously served as the library’s Youth Public Services Librarian.

“Elaine brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the position,” Spencer said in a statement. “Her commitment to fostering a love for reading and learning aligns perfectly with our mission to serve and engage our community. We are confident that her leadership will continue to inspire our staff while enhancing our services.

City officials, library board members and community leaders are welcoming the announcement, and the city is encouraging residents to congratulate Bleisch as she begins her new role.
