Scottsbluff man charged with possession of child porn

SCOTTSBLUFF -- Jason Vorse, 50, of Scottsbluff, is charged with Possession of Child Pornography on or about Oct. 28, 2024.
The maximum possible penalty if convicted is not less than 10 years’ and up to 20 years’ imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, a term of supervised release of not less than 5 years and up to life, and a $100 special assessment.
He was convicted in March 2010 of two counts of Third Degree Sexual Assault of a Child and placed on the Nebraska Sex Offender List for 25 years. Scotts Bluff County District Court records show Vorse was facing 20 counts of Possession of Child Pornography on Oct. 28, 2024.
On April 25, Scotts Bluff County Attorney Dave Eubanks moved to dismiss the charges because Vorse had been indicted federally.
United States Attorney Matthew R. Molsen announced April 25 the federal Grand Jury for the District of Nebraska has returned 22 unsealed Indictments charging 24 defendants. Indictments are charging documents that contain one or more individual counts that are merely accusations, and every defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
