Barry G. Wallace, age 76, of Sidney, NE passed away at Sidney Regional Medical Center on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Sidney, NE with Bishop Marvin Larsen officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff, NE at 2:00 P.M.  Services will be livestreamed on the Gehrig-Stitt Chapel Facebook page and recorded for later viewing on our website.

 Barry was born on July 28, 1948, in Benkelman, NE, to Merle Warren and Elaine Winifred (Wilson) Wallace.

He married Lila “June” Petersen on May 25, 1974, in Benkelman. They lived in Sidney, where Barry worked for the City of Sidney Water Department. He held several licenses for his duties at the Water Department. He worked there for many years. Barry also served in the U.S. Navy from February 9, 1968, to November 4,1971 where he was stationed aboard a ship in the Mediterranean.

 Barry was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He held several positions as a member since 1979. He and “June” were married in the Denver Temple on January 31, 1987. Together, they enjoyed temple attendance often.                  

 Barry is survived by his wife, “June” Wallace; daughters, Toni Coffey and Kim Wallace; stepson, Stephen Osborn and wife Elizabeth; brother, Kelly Wallace; his grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Merle and Elaine Wallace and grandson, Marc Schlieker.
