KIMBALL -- The newest officer in the Kimball Police Department has completed his training to move onto solo patrol work.

Officer Sergio Tarango spent 12 weeks being evaluated and mentored by three certified Field Training Officers to prepare him for solo patrol.

He first graduated from the academy and received his badge in April.

Chief of Police Jose Ruiz says Tarango is a great addition to the department, bringing a proactive mentality.

He has a bright future as a police officer, and we’re excited that he chose us as the agency that he wanted to work for,” Ruiz said.
