CHAPPELL, Neb. — It was all fairways and first responders on Saturday at the annual Fireman’s 4-Person Scramble at the Chappell Golf Course.

The sold-out tournament brought together dozens of teams for a day of golf, prizes and community support, all in honor of the Chappell Volunteer Fire Department and local fire crews. Golfers competed across 18 holes on the 9-hole course in sunny warm conditions and concluded the day with a steak dinner.

Money raised benefits the fire department for equipment purchase, department support and given back locally through the fire department's programs, including scholarships and donations to projects such as the Chappell splash pad.
